While networking may take some time, the result is far more rewarding than working the Internet as a solo gig and certainly far more attractive than the “cold calling” method from olden days.
The great thing about networking, especially if you’re the shy type, is that you don’t need to go looking for your new friends. Instead, you can get them come to you by setting up a blog and appealing to the emotions of compatible thinkers.
When using a blogging platform, you can manage communication from the comfort of your easy chair, while building a solid foundation from which you’ll share your knowledge, build trust, and gain new connections by teaching what you know.
I’m not implying that you can’t build relationships without a blog; this is far from the truth. However, it’s far easier to get started as an Internet marketer using a blogging platform than it is to design a static website.
Your Business Foundation
For most newcomers, a blog is the fastest way to build a business foundation because it’s easier for the technically challenged. You can literally get one installed and functional in less than 10 minutes!
For most online marketers, their main blog becomes the stomping ground for all their online efforts. Everything they say or do radiates outwardly from this main hub (or should), which includes announcing a new product or an upcoming event.
It’s the one area online where you build rapport day in and day out so the opportunities to build relationships and social awareness are inevitable. As you produce new content to share with the world, people return to read and distribute it across the wire.
It doesn’t take long to realize the possibilities of long-term profits. As you post new material, people continue to share your wisdom and the blog gains popularity. The ripples in the social media pool expand as the word spreads.
Your Profit Center
At some point in time, you’ll take what you’ve previously written as blog posts, expand on the material, and later compile it into a newly polished product to sell. This is the natural progress of an online marketer and you would be foolish not to participate!
Over time, the core group you initially attracted will grow into a larger group of people who love what you say and do. They’ll become evangelists for your purpose, affiliates for your products, and the trust factor will grow. Before long, you reach expert status and the opportunity to make money is recognizable.
As you can see, starting a blog is the quickest way to build a business foundation, create products, and connect with an audience that thinks like you! You can get started with zero experience and have your first blog established by the end of the day!
