Stop for a moment and look at what other Internet marketers are willing to do to get ahead and then ask yourself if you’re doing all you can do. There are many ways to develop a following online, but if you’re not willing to pony up and do the work, you won’t be able to get your name known.
I won’t lie – anybody has the ability to make it big in the world, but only a few possess the drive to make it happen! An Internet marketer’s mindset is different than most. This person is willing to do anything to get ahead! Are you?
My dad used to say that if you weren’t going to do it right, you may as well not do it at all. Does the work you’re doing in the last several months resemble this mindset? If not, something needs to change on your end.
What Are You Willing To Give Up?
Whether you’re starting an online or offline business, both enterprises take work to get them functioning at a level to produce income. Oh sure, there are ways to make money online without starting a business, such as affiliate marketing, but it still takes WORK to earn the first dollar.
Unfortunately, the decision to become an Internet marketer isn’t an easy one. You must live, breathe, and stop at nothing to make your dream come true. Naturally, you’ll need to give up some things in your life to make room for the new tasks that lie ahead.
Read Carrie Wilkerson’s blog post titled, What Are You Willing To Do Or Give Up To Build Your Business and you’ll see she thinks along the same line as I do.
You may find that you need to start your day earlier – no more sleeping until noon! You’ll work later in the evenings and give up sleep just to see a project come to completion. You make financial sacrifices so you can afford to learn new skills, software, and technology.
You buckle down and do what it takes to reach your goals as an Internet marketer. It’s not an easy road to travel for most people, but you’ll make necessary sacrifices. If you truly want success, you’ll find a way to achieve it!
What Are You Willing To Do?
I am tired of the people claiming that technology holds them back. As I see it, you have two choices: either learn how or walk away. It’s that simple. Either you want an Internet business or you don’t.
You can play the part of a victim or start learning. Starting a blog isn’t difficult; managing one is easier. Yet, so many people claim that technology holds them back – how bizarre is that?
Listen honey, if you truly want an Internet business, you’ll stop complaining and LEARN how to install a WordPress blog. Stop blaming your inaction on technology. Get off the woe is me train and educate yourself!
There’s a great blog post by Tiffany Lambert titled, This Might Be Why No One Wants To Help You and I advise you to read it. She’ll kick you 10 times into Sunday, but it’s for your own good.
Tiff talks about people who play the victim, why gurus get tired of e-mail whiners, and how an individual spends more time complaining about his/her situation than actually taking action to change it!
I didn’t know how to use Facebook or Twitter when I first joined, but I hopped aboard and learned through trial and error. I didn’t know how to write a status message or upload a photo, but I acquired the know-how. Building an Internet business is no different! You learn as you go!
What I Did To Reach Success
When I look back on my life, I’ve always done things differently. I was a single mother who attended college while I worked full and part time jobs. It wasn’t an easy life, but I was determined to give my baby girl a better life than I had at her age.
Frankly, I often worked two jobs to make ends meet. I didn’t go “out on the town” with friends to dance or party. I had a one-track mind to build a better life and willing to forego certain pleasures. So what are you willing to give up to make your Internet business work?
When I was thirty-something, the company I worked for went bankrupt. I was out of a job; instead of applying for unemployment, I reinvented my life. I was determined not to let life get the best of me. Are you willing to make changes for your future, too?
You can accomplish anything that you put your mind to, but first you must believe you have what it takes and you’re willing to forego activities to make room for the business tasks that await you. This could mean no more television, nights out with friends and going to bed later.
Life isn’t all peachy keen, but from where I’m sitting – life is what you make it.
If you desperately want to become an Internet marketer, you must possess the mindset that something worth doing isn’t worth doing half-assed. Learn by watching other successful marketers and copy their success. Better still, create your own path and be unique in the journey.
Nothing will happen by itself. You must be willing to change your current living conditions for a better future and adopt the mindset that anything is possible if you want it bad enough. Then, stop at nothing until you get it!
My partner is constantly telling me that you can’t build an online business in today’s economy. He claims people aren’t buying. I don’t argue with him.
I simply show him that what he believes doesn’t apply to me. Instead, I stick by my resolve to do whatever it takes and watch PayPal accrue the results. 🙂
