Video Sunday – Episode #11 from Bonnie Gean
Introduction
I went outside today (since the partner had to work) and ran errands before he returned home. Don’t worry; this week I didn’t drive and record at the same time! 🙂
I did take the camera outdoors with me, just in case I found an opportunity to sit and record the video for today. As luck would have it, opportunity presented itself! 🙂
List Building and Blogging Challenge
Tiffany’s challenge starts tomorrow, February 25, 2013. Are you going to participate? I am somewhat excited and nervous – both at the same time.
In one case, I’m definitely looking forward to engaging with more people! Though, on another note, I am scared too!
I spent the last two days getting my first freebie gift ready (as part of the challenge) and I think my nerves are shot because I want to make a good impression. LOL
Tutorial Ideas for the Challenge
I like the idea of being able to help people… help you! Ideas and requests are constantly pouring into the blog and my email box and I am so grateful for the response.
Just when I get one done, another request comes through so it keeps me busy and happy that I am able to serve!
I still need to write my lengthy tutorial for tomorrow’s challenge. I’m uncertain if I want to include video or make it a full-fledged written report. I’ll have to decide that before tomorrow!
I’m pretty sure what I want to do the tutorial on, but I won’t reveal it here. You’ll have to watch the video to see what I’m thinking about doing for the challenge kick-off!
Update on Free Tutorials
I am feverishly trying to get all the video tutorials transferred over to a PDF document for placement on the Free Reports resources page. I added another 2, but there are quite a few more that I still need to get on there.
With this challenge starting, people are going to need some free gifts to hand out so I am hoping I can help alleviate the stress involved by providing more value in the way of written content.
And don’t feel as if these reports are for a certain group of people! I made them for you! So if you need content to share with your subscribers and blog visitors – by all means download them and hand them out! I only ask that you don’t change the content in any way – thanks!
Building Communities
I read an interesting article online the other day that spoke about local businesses within a certain neighborhood getting together and creating care packages for charities. This gave me a wonderful idea of how you could incorporate “giving” within the online community.
Pick several like-minded individuals who are willing to share one of their products or services and place them into a pool. From all the shared content, a completely new product could result and create a massive amount of goodwill for all parties involved.
You could raffle off the product for pennies on the dollar or you could just hand it to one or more lucky recipients. For people to qualify, you can make a blog post that requires individuals to leave a comment explaining why they felt they should get the goodwill product.
Imagine a graphic designer, a web designer, and a ghostwriter getting together and creating a brand new mobile-ready website. After all the work is done and the website bundle is ready, each of the 3 individuals would create a blog post announcing the giveaway.
Anyone who wanted an opportunity to get their name in the hat or chosen by sharing the best reason to receive it could write a blog comment to be eligible to win. This would definitely drum up a following!
Is there a product or service that YOU could hand off to someone else, allowing them to bundle it with their product? I am not referring to a Give Away event, but rather a goodwill gesture where one person gets the opportunity to win a high-priced package.
Take advantage of the online press release services and spread the word. Word of mouth would kick in and this would have the ability to go viral very quickly! Would you be willing to do an act of kindness that didn’t bring you a dollar figure?
It’s your turn! Leave a comment below and let me know if this idea is worthy of further investigation. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Thanks for reading,
– Bonnie

Awe, sorry to hear that Sue.
Bonnie I’m looking forward to Tiff’s challenge also. I love your idea about creating a goodwill package. I’d be happy to throw in some article writing or image search into the pool if that’s the sort of thing you’re talking about.
