Today is day #30 of the video blogging challenge and I have a hodgepodge of information to share. I created a video to talk about each topic, but there’s text below if you would prefer to read.
Watch the Video:
Video Blogging Challenge – Day #30 from Bonnie Gean
The Last Day of the Video Blogging Challenge
If you completed all 30 videos, you would deserve a pat on the back and lots of praise! You did a great job and I am so proud of you! Don’t worry if you didn’t get all your videos made, you could still finish them!
Continue creating your videos because once you’re done with them, you will have 30 pieces of content out there working on behalf now and for years to come!
I spoke a little faster than usual on today’s video because I had so much to cover, so I apologize if you watched it and it seemed a little rushed. I was trying to keep it under the 10-minute mark! 🙂
HeartBleed Bug
This bug has been around since 2011 but causing problems right now. Check out the Heartbleed Hit List so you know which websites are affected and which passwords you need to change right now.
This bug attacks the Open SSL layers of websites and currently affects more than 60% of website properties. According to Mashable, this bug is considered one of the biggest security threats on the Internet so don’t take any chances thinking you weren’t affected!
Some companies such as Host Gator and Blue Host have already taken measures with a security patch, but you should still log into your accounts and change the passwords.
However, please note that since this bug has been around for several years, it’s quite possible that your credit card data and/or private information has been compromised.
If you use the same password across multiple websites, now is a good time to give each site a brand new password; please don’t use the same password twice!
Infographic Ideas
I want to work on more infographics. I just finished another one earlier this morning. I am doing a package of five that will be a part of aWSO, which I will offer at the end of April.
The infographics are on the topic of Internet marketing and I would like to offer other niches, in the future. If you have a Top 5, Top 7 or Top 10 list article, and you want it changed into an infographic, send it to my attention to bonniegean[at]gmail.com
Obviously, I need to get your permission to use the article as the basis for an infographic, which I would like to sell as PLR, so please remember to state (inside the email) that I have your permission. I will not use your wording verbatim; instead, I will rewrite the content in my own words.
In exchange for your help, I will give you a gratis copy of the infographic so you can use it to market your business! If this sounds like an acceptable exchange, I look forward to hearing from you!
Please give me permission in the email, when you submit an article, so I have it on file. Thanks!
Future Tutorials
Tutorials are something I have offered over the last two years, and there’s a section on the blog that offers links to each of them, but I am also getting requests for new tutorials.
Here are the first three I will produce, starting next week:
1. How to use Gimp and create a Kindle book cover graphic.
2. How to take a graphic button and attach an affiliate link to it from your blog.
3. What to do with the old blog post once you have recorded it on video.
If you need any additional tutorials, please leave a comment below or place it on the tutorial request page and I will get busy creating and recording!
Video Creation Report
This is my way of saying “thank you” for joining me on the video blogging challenge. I will share the report as a gift so you can give it to your friends and subscribers.
The report will consist of all the video tips I shared during the video blogging challenge. I didn’t supply a video tip every day, but there are still quite a few to compile.
If you started the challenge late, you probably didn’t get to see, read or hear the tips I am referring to, but I am going to create a short report with the tips, and if I have time – a PowerPoint presentation.
The Power of Plus by Sue Worthington
Before I started the video challenge, I was reviewing a copy of Sue Worthington’s the Power of Plus product, which I did not get to finish.
There was so much going on with the challenge, doctor visits, my surgery, the interview with Alice Seba, etc. that I stopped doing the review. I intend to complete the review so I will go back to my regular blogging schedule next week.
Your Educational Needs
I hope you will make it a point to revisit the blog in the future. I have plenty more to teach you and would like the opportunity to continue visiting with you.
You can tell me what you need, and allow me to help and teach you. Anything you are stumbling over and feel I can help you overcome, please share it with me. All correspondence is kept private so feel free to write to me with confidence.
Testimonial Section
Lastly, if you participated in the video blogging challenge and enjoyed the training, I would like to ask you to stop by my testimonial page and leave a comment. Even if you did not join the challenge and like what I share, consider stopping by.
I seriously would appreciate your input so I can improve my teaching methods. If you have time and wouldn’t mind helping me out, please visit the page and write from your heart. 🙂
Thank you for reading this entire blog post; I know I get long-winded!
What will you focus on now that the video challenge is over? Leave a comment below and let me know!
Thanks for reading,
– Bonnie
P.S. Did you enjoy this message? If so, please share it with your friends so they can benefit from schmoozing. Then, if you want to get more messages like this one, connect with me via my social links below or hop aboard my notification list. I would like to keep in touch.
Bonnie Gean, I am looking for some guidance. Google+ Communities are a new experience for me. Are there guidelines posted anywhere? In other words, how often can we post a video, what actions are required in return (likes, comments, etc). Much appreciated.
You can post a video on Google Plus as often as you want. Share away! I would love to see what you’ve put together.
As far as actions go – if you wouldn’t mind supporting the people who support you (as in they give you likes and view your videos) – I would say this is a fair exchange.
Ooh, I haven’t seen your infographics PLR, but I’ve heard you mention them a couple of times. Where are they at?
I am currently working on them, Avery. I am doing a package of 7 infographics for a WSO offer; plus, I will eventually place them into my PLR store too. I will let you know when they are ready. You can get them through the WSO at a much cheaper price than they will list for on the PLR store. 🙂
I don’t know where you get your energy from! My head is spinning from all the great stuff you’re working on. I may have a top 10 post I can give you. It’s about gardening if that works for you. I didn’t participate in the video challenge this time, but you’ve definitely piqued my interest!
I would love to create an infographic on gardening. When you’re ready, feel free to send it over! 🙂
Looking forward to the Gimp tutorial Bonnie!
Now that I’m down to the last infographic creation for my WSO package, the Gimp video is next in line, Marilyn!
Are you writing Kindle books?
ugh the heartbleed bug. What a pain in the you know what. I work for an IT company and it has been putting a lot of extra work on all of us. Glad most of us made it out alive. Congrats on finishing up your video challenge, Way to go!
Thanks Misty! How much havoc did that Heartbleed bug cause you?
Hi Bonnie. I tend to use the same password everywhere as I can’t usually remember them. (I know it is bad to do that)
Is there anywhere where I can store them or should I just do a PowerPoint chart or simply put them in a Word document and save?
Thanks again for your advice and help.
Every person is different.
I save mine to a USB drive and then unplug it at night.
It keeps my passwords accessible to me when I need them and protects the information because it isn’t stored anywhere online.
Hi Bonnie Gean!
I will go back and watch other videos to catch up, several each day until I’m all caught up – I don’t want to miss anything! 🙂
Appreciate all the help and will be putting another video out on Wednesday.
Have a great upcoming week!
– Carol
I love hearing that, Carol! Please do visit the videos and continue making new ones of your own. Now that my WSO is almost ready to launch, I will have more time on my hands to view more videos!
I’ve been following along with all of your posts. You’ve done a great job with all of this and I can’t wait to see all of the tips compiled. It’s going to be an awesome resource for vloggers!
I’m recording a new video today as soon as I finish up the post I’m working on now.
Things are tough around here right now. Taylor’s grandma went blind on one eye last month overnight and now she’s nearly blind in the other. 🙁 We’ve been working on fixing her house up so she can get around and adjust to the changes. As if that wasn’t worrisome enough his 15 year old brother called from a rehab facility a few days ago and told us he’d been in there two weeks.
Honestly though, enough is enough with excuses! I was sitting around and saw that Tiff’s Work Life Balance product was on sale and I realized how ironic it was that even though I have it I never read all of the way through it because I was “too busy.” I know that’s just not true!
I may only have 2-3 hours a day to get stuff done right now but that’s more than enough time to actually be productive. Today I’m posting up part one of my review of that product and also doing a vlog. 🙂 I’ll be sure to post it up in the group when I’m done.
Yes, after the challenge ended – I put my nose to the grindstone to get my infographics package done. Now that this is being launched this week, I have time to gather the rest of the tips for the report.
How are you doing Amanda? You better stop “disappearing” from us. I want to know what you’ve been up to lately and why I never see much of you anymore!
Hi Bonnie,
Thank you for the mention on the video. 🙂
You work so hard, I really appreciate all the energy you put into this. I am looking forward to your future tutorial videos. Just want you to know that this is the BEST challenge I’ve ever done. Just because it is more challenging getting in front of the camera. Just loosing that fear getting out there is a huge thing for me. So thank you…thank you my friend. You have a wonderful Sunday!!
Angela
It was a WONDERFUL experience having you on the challenge. When can I expect to see more videos from you? 🙂
Good post! How many days have you got left?
LOL – the video challenge ended April 11 for me since I started it at the beginning (March 3), but some are still hanging in there until they finish their 30 videos!
Very information information. I especially like the link to the heartbleed bud hit list.
Thanks.
It’s always a scary thing to learn that your passwords and login information could be at risk, isn’t it?
could not join the challenge but i see your blog and it has lot of informative posts.
While you may have missed this particular challenge, I am sure I will offer it again! 🙂 Maybe you could join when that one starts?
