Itβs the last week of the June Variety Article Writing Challenge over on Facebook and today I want to share three things I finished today as part of the challenge. Actually, I finished two personal tasks and three business tasks, but who is counting? π
Personal Tasks
Today, I went to Tim Hortonβs and bought the partner a strawberry and banana smoothie. He loves those things, and today is payday, which means I usually run out to get food he likes and exchange it for his paycheck. I know β smart thinking, right?
I also compiled a short video clip of CoCo (my five-month old puppy) and posted it to Facebook so you could see the new commands she learned. I especially like this video because every time I tell her to βgo backβ to the spot she started from β she immediately did it!

Three Business Tasks
1. Preparation for Kindle Publishing
I have been meaning to write for Kindle for many months now but never seem to get the time to do it. As I was cruising around the blog today, I bopped myself on the head because I already have a product I can turn into a Kindle book!
I immediately fired up Photoshop and turned my old book cover into something fantastically eye-catching! I am amazed that I didnβt think of doing this sooner, but better now than never, eh?
Hereβs a copy of the old cover versus the new one:
I think the new cover is simply smashing compared to the old one. Yet, I know there is more work ahead of me. I need to format the report for Kindle and proofread the copy. I heard Scrivener makes it easy to format for Kindle so I am willing to give it a try.
2. Dog Obedience Training (Social Media Images)
I have a customer asking for content related to dogs. I finished 12 social media images on the topic of dog obedience and now I am conducting research to create an infographic for the package. I hope to have it uploaded to PLR Productions by next week.
Here is a look at one of the social images:
3. Added a Subscription Box to the Sidebar Menu
Lastly, I removed the subscription box from the top of the page and added one to the sidebar menu. I originally added the larger subscription notice to the top of my blog when my mentor suggested I make some changes.
I grew tired of seeing the big box at the top of my pages so I opted to remove it and place a banner there instead. I never really carried much advertising on my blog and want to give it a try to see if it makes a difference with my passive income.
The moral of the story is…
As an entrepreneur, there is always something beckoning for your attention; but, if you take baby steps you can make quite an impact on your workload. I aim to do this every week in hopes of seeing a list that is entirely void of work-related tasks!
What three things did you accomplish today or this week? Leave a comment below and let me know!
Thanks for reading,

At first I thought you meant that you took the things off your to-do list because you figured you were never going to get to them, but you meant you actually did them! NICE!
It’s the best to cross things off your list. I once heard that you should tackle the hardest things first and then the little tasks, but I always seem to get the little tasks done and save the big ones for last!
I love the dog obedience part!
Good job! 3 less things for you!
Thanks for stopping by, Dawn!
LOL, I didn’t realize it sounded as if I removed the tasks from the list until you mentioned it! Funny how people arrive at different conclusions based on what they read. I guess this is a good lesson on choosing your headline wisely. π
I never pick according to hard or easy. I choose whether I can get it done the quickest. It’s always worked out for me.
Love the new cover! Great work Bonnie!
I think the new cover looks great too and so glad you like it Tamsin! Thanks for stopping by from your busy schedule! I miss the conversations with you!
Love the new cover Bonnie, and the Coco video.
Three things I did this week:
1) New optin box on my blog
2) Two “reports” mapped out
3) Progress in 3 projects for my offline business
Although there were some very “hairy moments” in the week, ending up feeling quite positive about the last 7 days.
Joy
Why did you change your optin box? Was the old one performing less than expected or is this the first optin box you’re adding?
I don’t work well with hairy moments, but it sounds like it panned out for you.
The original one was barely even noticeable, but in fact the real reason behind the change is that it’s part of a new direction for me – that (I hope:-) you’ll read about in my next blog post.
Good luck with your mentor, Joy! I read your blog post about it and it sounds like you’re finally doing what you love most… keep me abreast of how things are working out for you!
The new cover sure looks snazzy, you definetly know how to use Photoshop well! The thing I struggle with most for image creation is finding good legal images I can incorporate into my design, do you have an article on that?
Pixabay.com and Morguefile.com offer public domain files/images you can incorporate into your designs.
Also, if you use images from royalty-free image sites such as Dollar Photo Club – you can get images for as little as a$ per image or pay for the type of license you want (standard or extended).
I wrote this article sometime ago about copyright infringement on images: http://www.bonniegean.com/are-you-stealing-images-from-google/
Great job on getting things done Bonnie. I love the new cover you made for your kindle book. I agree looks so much better. And I think, more modern looking? You also make some nice social images, the dog one looks very nice.
This week has been busy for me. Created a WSO and put it up on the forum. Also fixed up my blog (work in progress) and getting back to posting more. Other than that, all the other regular business stuff I do just about every day. I did get part of the lawn mowed today π
How did your WSO work out for you Ron? Make any PLR sales? Well, mowing part of the lawn is better than nothing. Who does the other half? π
Bonnie,
First, I just want so say, I love your new cover! Very attractive upgrade!
The three things accomplished today were:
1. Getting two blog posts ready for publishing for the upcoming Ultimate Blog Challenge, starting July 1.
2. Interviewing a guest speaker for my upcoming series: Business StartUP Success Stories.
3. Making some cool graphics for my website!
BONUS: Downloading your book!
Thanks for the compliment on my book cover!
Oh yes, it’s that time again – the UBC. Have you finished previous challenges with 30 posts?
Enjoy the download! π
Today I wrote a paper about what skills a good manager needs, listened to several chapters of The E-Myth Revisited audiobook, and worked out a good deal more of my formal business plan. I might try and do something more because the husband is occupied watching movies for the night, but then again maybe not because that was all enough to tire me out for the day.
The new cover looks great, btw. Very eye-catching and cheerful. π
I read the “E-Myth” book years ago when I first started my home-based business. I don’t think I have the book anymore, but it was a great book about putting systems in place so you could hand the business duties over to someone else while you worked ON your business rather than in it.
I don’t really care for audio books. I guess I prefer curling up on the couch and reading the old fashioned way. π
I’m not big on audiobooks either, but it was the only format the library at the time.
I liked the book a lot, too. What I found most valuable was the conflict between the entrepreneur, manager, and technician side of things. I play out that conflict naturally in my own business planning and always thought something was wrong with me. So when I saw your post, I also originally thought your title was about literally taking things off the list, because I do that all the time: make the lists and then look at them later from another perspective and start revising them. It was good to learn from the book that this was actually a good and necessary thing to be able to do.
Wearing more than one hat for your business is not healthy or productive. I learned that when I read the E-Myth many years ago. I like the idea of having step by step guide books you can hand over to someone else so you aren’t the ONLY EMPLOYEE of your business.
Naturally, we all want our business to be able to operate without us at the helm, but for self-starters on a budget, that’s not always easy to achieve. Still, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have those guides ready for when you’re earning enough profit and can hand over some of the work to a VA. π
I love the new cover Bonnie π I completed three blog posts today and scheduled them as I have a busy week ahead – aiming to get to 100 days of posting every day. Today is day 89 of that so I didn’t want to break my run just because there’s too much going on.
OMG, it seems like eons since I was able to get 3 posts completed on a schedule. So glad you are able to do this for your blog! It makes things much easier, doesn’t it?
Thanks for sharing Bonnie and great list. I accomplished this week, organizing the boxes and packing up more for my upcoming move, de-cluttering more, and getting the utility companies aware of the switch they will need to make because of the move in a few weeks. Everything for me is related to the move, and once I am settled in the new house.. then I will focus on other things!
It is such a nice idea to get a new house because of getting new surroundings. I don’t relish the idea of packing or unpacking, but it needs to get done. Here’s to hoping you have a smooth transition, Miriam.
Where are you moving to?
Great way to re-purpose Bonnie and thanks for the free opportunity, I know it will be a best seller!
Anything for my followers, Marilyn! You have supported my efforts for a long time now and it feels good to give back whenever I can. π
Three things. I accomplished a lot at work (I am not self employed) towards a project I am involved in. I did some needed research. I took some “me” time today with my spouse and visited a nursery on 50% off clearance and got some perennials for my yard. Spouse will plant them tomorrow.
I didn’t make time this year to plant my flowers, which I am sad about since they smell so good in full bloom. What kind did you grab today?
Do you plant them around the house?
