In addition to working on another WSO product for launch, I realized I had not done anything to get my new health site established. I started a new Facebook group so if you want to get back in shape, consider joining us on Facebook to gain support.

The Website Project
I spent the better part of the day working on the new health website. While I didn’t get as much done as I wanted, I was able to finish the three top things on my list to give the website a boost in the right direction.
Here is what I managed to finish today:
1. A New Logo (Shown above)
Since this new website isn’t my main hub spot online, I didn’t want to spend too much time agonizing over a logo design. Additionally, I needed to find a suitable font that I could incorporate into a visually pleasing logo. Sadly, I couldn’t find a free one so I ended up purchasing a font package.
I searched over on Dafont.com until I uncovered an acceptable font style and obtained a commercial license for $59. Even though the website is about my personal journey to better health, I may do some Amazon reviews and this meant I needed a font for commercial use.
2. A Video Intro Bumper
James Wedmore and Gideon Shalwick both agree that your videos do much better when they incorporate a video intro bumper, which is nothing more than a branded logo to “set the tone” for your video. I created a welcome video for the website so I created a temporary video intro bumper.
Depending on how many videos I create and how widespread the Reclaiming My Health group becomes on Facebook, it’s possible I will pay to have a new intro bumper created with Adobe After Effects. I’ll attract traffic to the website before making a final decision.
3. A Welcome Video
I created a welcome video to help visitors understand why I created the Reclaiming My Health website. Additionally, the content I will share on this new site is not related to BonnieGean.com so it will attract a different audience.
The new audience won’t know me from Adam so a video is a perfect way to introduce my face, goals and reasoning behind the website. I want visitors to know I am overweight and tired of eating the standard American diet (SAD), and I will most likely take some pictures or record myself mixing smoothies. 🙂
I did the welcome video in one sitting, which is not typical for me. I usually need to restart three or four times until I get everything just right, but the welcome video came together fast. The passion just flowed out of me.
The only problem I had was the ending. I finished the video saying I would appreciate the “friendship and camaraderie” which means the same thing so I had to edit the repeat. Oh well, I refuse to record the entire video over just because of one word!
While it doesn’t seem like these three things could take up an entire day – I admit they did. When you’re using Photoshop to create a logo – it has to FEEL right in conjunction with being visually appealing. It had taken several tries before I was happy with the result.
The longest part of the video was creating the animated intro bumper, but at least it is finished. I used VideoMakerFX to pull together a quick logo animation and I like it so it can stay until I want to spend money to have someone else create one.
Once I was pleased with the intro bumper and logo, I mucked around the site changing settings and adding the main colors and various elements to prepare the site for opening. That about wrapped up the day and now I’m going to enjoy my video game!
What three things did you do today? Leave a comment below and let me know!
Thanks for reading,

I was up early today as it was mainly a day off for me. I went off on a day trip an hour away on the train for shopping and I met friends there after they finished work for dinner and drinks. But I did complete a blog post, wrote one for tomorrow and paid a bill before I left so I hope that counts 🙂
I rode a train once in my entire lifetime (and I’m in my early 50s), but I fondly remember the experience. I wish I could go on more!
Sounds like you wrapped a productive day into a ball of fun too! So glad you’re taking “ME” time to spend with your friends! That’s always makes for an enjoyable day.
What kind of shopping did you do? Clothes?
I didn’t know you were starting a new health site, that’s great, can’t wait to follow your journey. And I like the logo for it!
Thanks Salma. 🙂 Yes, I made the decision that it was time to stop making excuses and get back to full health. 🙂
I’m curious to see your site and Amanda’s.
What kind of health topics are you covering?
You can view my new health site at http://www.reclaimingmyhealth.com/
I started a journey to lose 100 pounds over the next year and will chronicle my journey using this site. I also intend to review products that I use to help me in my quest.
3 things I did yesterday (it’s still morning here, so not a lot yet!)
Did the first part of the walk through vid for Google My Business
Updated the text and screenshots on my free report re: Google My Business
And since you’re talking health and I am making an effort – did 30 mins on the exercise bike and walked at brisk walk rather than stroll with Muppet
Love your new logo! It looks so “you”.
It’s a wonder we get any personal time in since we’re both so busy with our online businesses! Likewise, I’m sure Muppet doesn’t mind a brisk walk as long as she/he is able to be with you!
How is your video creation coming along? I think we’re due a new Jan video! 🙂
My roots need doing (badly) hahaha
Oh pish posh, now you’re making excuses. 🙂 Get those videos done! Nobody cares how your hair looks!
I must have missed you talking about starting a health site. I started working on one a while back in secret and was planning on officially launching it at the end of the month. I began work on it right after finishing another round of training on nutrition and diabetes meal planning. I’ve been taking a lot of courses on it just because it’s something I’m so interested in.
So how is your health site coming along, Amanda? Any idea when you’ll release it to the public for us to enjoy?
