Hey Bonnie!
Stopped by to use one of your awesome tutorials again…. Bonnie Gean the Tutorial Queen is still the best!
See Ya!
Mary
Thanks, Mary!
Are there any other tutorials you still need? If so, please let me know so I can get busy again creating more! 🙂
– Bonnie
Hi Bonnie, I’ve been going through your list of tutorials and I’m really impressed with the amount of help you provide here. However I was looking for a tutorial I thought I had seen here on a previous visit and I can’t find it.
It’s about uploading a report to my blog. Did you have a tutorial on that? I’ll be checking for your reply. Thank you Bonnie
Fran
This video tutorial explains how to add a PDF to a blog post. Is this what you want?

This PDF report shows you step by step how to add a PDF to a blog post.

Hiya Bonnie. Sorry about the delay as I couldn’t find the website! It was something that was sent to my inbox for who know who (!) but as I am quite short I had a quick look!! LOL
Anyway, at the bottom of their page they have a button that says: CLICK HERE FOR INSTANT ACCESS which,as I said, looks so much better than simply Click here in blue. The website is: emmashealthreviews.com/reviews/does-grow-taller-4-idiots-really-work-or-is-it-a-scam/
Thanks.Ann
Okay, I see the image. This calls for two tutorials. One to show you how to create the button graphic and another one to show you how to upload it to your blog and LINK it somewhere. 🙂
Before I go ahead and do it, I want to make certain this is what you want. Is it? 🙂
Hi Bonnie. That is correct. That is just what I want.
I hope it is not too much trouble.
Ann
It’s not too much trouble at all, Ann. You do realize though, that I will probably use Gimp to show you how to make the button. Right? 🙂
And then a second video to show you how to upload it to your blog and paste it onto a page and/or post. Is this good?
Good morning!
Brilliant!
I do have Gimp but I haven’t used it yet but I am sure with your excellent, step by step tutorial I will learn how to use it. 🙂
I am really looking forward to learning how to do this!
Ann
Ann, your video tutorial is done! Did you get a chance to check it out yet?
Look at: http://www.bonniegean.com/video-blogging-challenge-day-16/
Hi Bonnie..
I was sure that I had answered this!
I have downloaded Gimp – not sure how to use it though – yet! LOL
And yes that is just what I would like.
I really do appreciate all your help.
Best wishes,
Ann
The Gimp tutorial was completed sometime ago. Have you watched it yet? Is there anything about the tutorial that you don’t understand?
Hi Bonnie. Yes, I have had a chance to look at it. Sorry for the delay in replying but I was in the UK visiting my sister. Pretty good weather actually for the time of year.
I have posted a comment in your Video Challenge Day 16 where you posted the video.
Thanks so much for taking your time to do that for me. Much appreciated.
Hope you are feeling better now.
Thanks Ann. I’m getting better by the day. 🙂
Hi Bonnie.
I have recently seen on a website that they have a button saying “Click here for instant access” instead of just giving a link in blue using the chain link key on WP.
Do you have a tutorial for that? It looks so much more professional.
Thanks again for all you valuable help.
Best wishes,
Ann (In Spain)
First, many themes offer “shortcodes” that allow bloggers to create buttons instead of links that lead to other pages on their blog. The theme I’m using does that, but I chose not to use them. 🙂
Then, some people create graphic buttons to do the same job. Unless I know specifically what you’ve seen, it would be hard for me to create a tutorial for you. Can you pinpoint where you spotted this button and perhaps share a link with me?
Thanks!
Great info Bonnie,
I lust now found this… sorry I didn’t find your great info in step by step earlier.
I am sure I will have some suggestions for you soon!
I can’t wait to see the one on FTP.
Thanks
I look forward to hearing more from you, Logan. 🙂

Hi Bonnie
Can you do a tutorial on using FTP please? Or show how to put a document for download on the server?
Thanks
Shan
Sure I can make a tutorial for you! Thanks for suggesting it, Shan!
As always – Bonnie to the rescue!! Thanks – everything looks so much better now.
Your help is always very much appreciated.
Have a good Sunday!
Ann
LOL, you’re so welcome Ann. Glad I could help!
Hi Bonnie.
I have a question for you and would appreciate your help.
When I log onto your page I see your posts in a list with a “read more” but that doesn’t happen with mine. They are all there in all their glory!
I have tried to put “summary” on appearance but nothing….
And how do you get those cute pictures next to each post?
Any help gratefully received. Thanks.
Ann
You must use the MORE prompt that’s available from the kitchen sink area of your WordPress editor window. Wherever you use the MORE prompt, WordPress will automatically insert the “read more” or “continue” link for the rest of the post.
The cute pictures next to the post are “feature images” and that should be available from your post on the right sidebar.
I would love to see a tutorial on “How to Make Your Response to Comments Show Come to The Persons E-Mail”
Mary
Are you asking how to make YOUR replies go to their email box Mary (aside from using the premium version of CommentLuv)… You could use a plugin.
Hi. Here I am again asking for help.
I would like to know how to embed a YouTube video in my blog.
Can you help me?
Thanks so much.
Best wishes,
Ann
Sure Ann,
Go here:

Another Tutorial idea…..
How to mae a Page be the front of the site….. basically – if you were going to make a site for a business, you would want a Page as the main thing instead of a blog – right?
I am trying to figure out how to do the set-up for a business
Thanks
Mary
What type of page will you have on the front of the site, Mary?
A subscription form or a sales page?
Hello again.
Don’t worry about answering my previous post as I managed to change the email address and now it works!
Best wishes,
Ann
Okay. 🙂 The previous question was about Gravatar, right? Too late, I already answered it. ROFL
Wow Bonnie, I’m floored by the amount of helpful tutorials you have here. It’s really awesome, and the fact that you take requests is great.
Keep up the great work.
Tasha
Why thank you Tasha! I aim to please.
Have you got any specific requests? I’m all ears! 🙂
Hi Bonnie, I would love a tutorial on how to do tutorial videos. More specifically how do you manage do shift back and forth to screens and use that nifty little yellow pointer?
Thanks, Debra
That’s made possible by using a program called Camtasia, Debra.
Thank you Bonnie, is this your product?
Camtasia is not my product, but the link is an affiliate link Debra.
Do you still need a tutorial showing you how to do tutorials? I just want to ask now that you know the program is available and that’s what I use. 🙂
Hi Bonnie, that. Would be great. What is your opinion about Fraps? I imagine because it’s cheaper it wouldn’t be the same quality:)
Fraps isn’t anything near Camtasia, for application sake. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.
In fact, Fraps is used more in the online gaming world. Online game-players, such as World of Warcraft and Star Wars, use it to capture their game movements to share on YouTube. It’s not exactly the kind of program you could use to produce YouTube videos for business.
I am a gamer, Debra. I own Fraps. I know what it can and cannot do. You won’t be able to do the type of tutorials you need to with Fraps.
Thanks Bonnie. My step-son mentioned it and I said I would run it by you:) I appreciate the quick response! Yes, I definitely want to do a video tutorial about Outlook.. Camtasia is pretty pricey but seeing what you are doing it’s worth the purchase and makes up for it in the long run.:)
The only screen capture Fraps can do is by pressing a button, which spits out a picture. This is all done inside a game.
To give you a better idea of what Fraps can record, look at the following game videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIyneP8ppGM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC1zVKKzvec
I shot both of them with Fraps when I played these games. After creating the video inside the game, you can place them into Camtasia to add music or text on top of the screen Capture that Fraps did, but that’s about it.
In fact, I just booted up Fraps now and it won’t even take a screenshot or record my computer movements. It just works inside of a game.
Bonnie,
You’ve got this really great video thumbnail. I’d LOVE a tutorial on creating one of those. Also it looks like you’ve incorporated your header graphic into the video thumbnail, a tutorial on creating a simple one of those would be nice too.
Thanks Minna for the new ideas on creating more tutorials! You got it sister!
Will you be using Gimp and needing the tutorial done through this software program?
Let me know!
Just to clarify, you’re talking about the anime girl video thumbnail that shows on the front of my videos and how I made the gradient graphic I use as the image for my videos, right?
Bonnie, yes that’s the one. It’s such an awesome way to keep the visual continuity of your branding. Gimp is perfect. Thanks!
Tiffany said we need to learn new stuff so we can teach others. I’m living proof that this is true. LOL
I never worked with Gimp before I did the sticky note, so I’m learning as I teach! The sticky note was just the beginning of Gimp tutorials. The program is quite easy to learn. It’s not Photoshop, but hey – it gets the job done!
I would like to know how to get “Home” to show up on the navigation bar on top og the blog.
Thanks!
Mary
I’ll make a tutorial (video) for you tomorrow Mary! It’s easier to show you than to tell you. 🙂
Your tutorial is ready! You can find it at:
http://www.bonniegean.com/how-to-create-a-menu-in-wordpress/
Good luck!
Awesome – thanks Bonnie….. it was easy to do following your step by step!
Mary
You’re welcome Mary! Glad it helped you get the job done.
I really struggle with graphics, even small things, so anything graphical is always helpful.
I can make graphic tutorials for you Amanda, but rather than me guess at what you want to learn first… can you come up with 1 or 2 things you would like?
Thanks girlfriend!
Bonnie,
Thanks for your info on how to create a gravatar–had been trying to find out how to do this.
Ron
PS Any info on how to promote articles would be great–anything other than the usual venues.
You’re welcome, Ron! I’m glad you found the tutorial. Now, you know I’m going to be looking to see if your picture is showing. 🙂
May I ask, what you’re doing now to promote with articles? That will give me a better idea of what you consider the “usual” venues and how I can better serve you, Ron.
Thanks!
I have an idea for a tutorial…..
How to forward a few different gmail address to come to one main gmail account.
Mary
Awesome! My first tutorial request since the new page was installed! I thank you for being the first to ask! That’s a doable tutorial too!
Bless your heart for asking. If you can think of any others, I’d love to hear about them!
