Panic over! Seem to have got it back somehow!
I was watching your video about a menu and I would like to know the difference between that and adding a page. And how do you get a drop down when someone clicks on your Resources box for example?
I am sorry for all these questions.
Best wishes,
Ann
There are two ways to get a drop down box from a Resource menu item. One way is by creating your own WordPress menu and following this tutorial:
http://www.bonniegean.com/how-to-add-pages-to-a-wordpress-menu/
The other method is through the Page Attributes area. When you create a new page, choose a “Parent” page from the drop down menu.
Hiya. Glad blog is working again and all your problems with HostGator have been sorted. I use them so……..
Now this is weird. I said I had managed to get the Contact up and working but now, when I go on to my blog, everything – Home / About / Contact seem to have vanished! Yet when I go to my dashboard they are there as pages – except Home which seems to have gone AWOL!!
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks!
Best wishes,
Ann
They were all on your menu when I visited your website. Did you somehow fix them?
That would be cool.
Thank u kindly!
Ann
No problem.
Thanks! I thought I was missing something! LOL
Done it! Brilliant!!
(As you can see, I am very into !!!).
Do you have a tutorial about how to add a thumbnail photo to a post or to add to the top part like you have?
I want to thank you again for all your time and patience.
Best wishes,
Ann
I don’t have a tutorial on how to add a featured image or add an image to a post, but I can certainly add it to the list. LOL
Hello again.
No, I didn’t. I just added it to the bottom of my posts.
So, should I make a totally new post saying “Contact me”? What is the difference between a post and a page?
Sorry for all these questions. I really do appreciate all your help.
Ann
Not a post Ann a PAGE. π
You must choose to make a NEW PAGE so it goes on your WordPress menu at the top of your blog.
The difference between a post and a page is this.
A post will disappear from the front of your blog as you add more posts.
A page WILL REMAIN at the top of your blog, on the menu, until you do something that removes it.
If you put the contact box into a post, it will disappear from the front of your blog and nobody will be able to find it, should they need to contact you. Adding it as a PAGE keeps it permanently pasted to your navigation menu so people can find it easily.
Hiya. Am trying again as the computer rebooted itself for updates so it might work this time.
Have added a “Contact Me” form on my blog posts using your incredibly easy to follow instructions.
Thanks!!
Have a great Mother’s Day!
It was Mother’s Day here last weekend and my daughter bought me some presents and took me out for lunch. Wonderful girl!
Best wishes,
Ann
I don’t see it Ann.
Did you remember to call the page “Contact” and make it a PAGE and not a post?
Hi. I have tried from there, on my laptop, with no success π
Don’t know why.
Ann
I’m not sure what to say, Ann.
That’s where I downloaded mine from.
Hiya. I have been trying to download Gimp without any success. Can you give me any hints?
As I have Picassa will that work instead?
I would like to says thanks, once again, for all your help.
Best wishes,
Ann
Ann,
Don’t download Gimp from any other domain but this one:
http://www.gimp.org/
I can’t get my sticky not to work in Gimp. I have the free version and my canvas does not look like yours. I’ll keep at it. Thanks, Bonnie.
What does your canvas look like Ruth? Can you take a screen shot of it and email me so I can help you better?
Yes that is right. Can’t make money without one. π
So that would be really great if u could help out.
Best wishes,
Ann
I’ve been quite busy over the last few days preparing for the Fan Page Challenge videos / images I promised Sue Worthington, but once my schedule breaks from doing that work I would be glad to do a video for this!
Hiya. Glad to see that the website is up and running well again.
Sorry but I have another question for you, if you don’t mind.
I have got some WSOs which have a “buy” button picture but I have no idea how to add a “buy” button and how to link it to PayPal.
Can you help me?
Best wishes,
Ann
BTW, I have looked at the How to add PDF and I have a question (again!!) but as I don’t have the document on me (am at work) I can’t ask yet. I just wanted to let you know that I have indeed looked at it. Great stuff!!!
Hi Ann,
You have a PayPal account and you want to add a BUY button to a web page that points to PayPal so you can accept money. Is this the type of tutorial you want?
Hiya Bonnie.
I wasnβt ignoring you β honest! I posted a reply to you over the weekend but it doesnβt seem to have shown up. My internet connection was being a bit slowβ¦..
What I said was thanks so much and yes I would really appreciate it.
And thanks again for being so helpful.
Best wishes,
Ann
I know you weren’t ignoring me. π
I’ve been having issues with my hosting account for the last 2 days, so I’ve been busy taking care of that. π
I have created your video for PDF and adding it to a blog post. As soon as the server behaves, I can upload it. π
That would be great!
Much appreciated. It is sooo nice when people want to share.
Best wishes,
Ann
Your tutorial awaits you, girlfriend. π
http://www.bonniegean.com/how-to-add-pdf-to-a-blog-post/
I have been reading the “How to add an email form to your blog” and can’t wait to try it out.
You said that we can share the PDF which brings me to my next question – if I want to share it via my blog, how do I add it? I mean how does one “attach” a PDF so that people can download it?
Thanks so much.
Best wishes,
Ann, in Spain
I would be more than glad to make another video showing you how to add the PDF to a blog post. Would you like that?
Hi Bonnie.
Just wanted to check, before I did it, if I can actually add your PDF tutorials directly to my blog so that others can look at them or do I have to share via FB etc.? I don’t want to do it without checking first. π
Obviously they would be credited to you with a link to your blog – I think I know how to do that! LOL
Your explanations are so clear so why re-invent the wheel!
I ask this as I am not sure if I have interpreted correctly the – you can share bit.
Thanks so much for your help.
Ann
Any FREE report that’s listed on the Free Report page can be shared from your blog Ann.
http://www.bonniegean.com/resources/free-reports/
You aren’t limited to sharing them on FB. You can share them from your blog as a download or use them as a free gift to build your list.
You can share any of the reports listed on the page. You just can’t change the contents inside the report. π
Hiya. You did good!! π
Sorry, checking you out sounded a bit rude…..I meant looking over your blog. Very interesting and useful. Loads to read and lots of helpful hints.
Will be in touch.
Best wishes,
Ann
No problem Ann, I knew exactly what you meant by “checking me out” and I’m glad you are! π
Hi Bonnie. Pleased to meet you.
I have been reading your comments on Tiffany Dow’s blog and am checking you out! LOL
Great tutorials. I have a blog on WP which Tiffany helped me set up but it is still a bit raw, to say the least, so I am sure your tutorials will help me out. Very generous of you to let us use them for free….
I am a lurker so even if I don’t post much I am here reading up as much as possible and trying to learn.
Best wishes from Ann in Spain
Hi Ann, how are you doing today my dear?
Oh my, checking me out – eh? How did I do? π
If there are any more WordPress tutorials you would like, just ask me Ann. I’d be more than happy to get more up there for you. I’m sure others would appreciate them in the future, too.
if you’re shy and don’t wish to declare what you need in public, do it privately through my contact form. We can keep it between us, if that’s what you prefer.
There are more tutorials on the blog, too.
Did you see the list of them at the following page:
http://www.bonniegean.com/resources/tutorials/
Let me know if you need anything else, Ann!
Good grief, I have just lost my mind here. I get these hit and miss and here they are in one place. Thanks, Bonnie.
LOL, you’re welcome Ruth! So sorry you had a hard time finding them. Check back now and then. I’ll be adding more free reports!
Bonnie, I am wondering if this will work with Camstudio, the free version of Camtasia. Do you know? Guess I can Google it, but I thought you might know off the top of your head. Thanks.
I don’t know enough about Camstudio to know if this animation will work. However, you do know Camtasia offers a 30-day FREE trial, right? π
