Learning affiliate marketing is not something that happens instantly after you read a blog post, buy a course, or watch a video tutorial. This marketing model is an on-going process that evolves over time.
You want to think of affiliate marketing as a continuing education system where you are always learning new ways to do things and always improving your conversion rates to help your earnings soar.
More importantly, affiliate marketing allows you to learn at a comfortable pace from some of the best mentors who share golden nuggets that help shorten your learning curve.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is an online business model where you initiate a relationship between a buyer and a seller that results in a sale. You make money because the buyer acquires a product through your referral link; a link you acquired from the seller.
Becoming an affiliate does not require you to be a product creator. As an affiliate marketer, you are only doing the tasks that are required to introduce a buyer to a product, a product review, or a sales page.
Granted, there will be times when you and the seller will perform similar tasks, such as building a list, advertising the product and attracting the right audience, but only the seller handles sales copy, product delivery and follow up customer support.
However, you’ll research the niche because you’ll need to provide good guidance to buyers – and without research, you won’t be able to match specific problems to the best product solutions available in the marketplace.
Since you won’t be burdened with product creation or follow up customer service, you are free to enjoy the process of connecting people with problems to the best solutions that can change their lives.
Buyers will eventually come to know you as a leader – a person they can rely on when they need answers. However, before you can become a super affiliate, you must choose a niche to work from and locate ethical marketers with a product for sale.
There are many ways for you to choose a niche, but it’s important to put some thought and research into it before you choose one. Doing the research up front will prevent you from wasting valuable time and effort.
In the next section of the series, we’ll discuss how to choose the right niche and follow that with how to establish a selling platform for your affiliate marketing business.
