One of the misconceptions about Internet marketing, other than affiliate marketing, is that you need a finished product to make a sale, but you’ll soon discover why I believe this is a myth that was fabricated by the devious marketers with a personal agenda to get your money.
It’s not that hard to establish an online business, but some would have you believe that it’s a detailed process you can only learn by buying their latest high-ticket product. Luckily, you’re about to learn this isn’t the case.
All you need to do is write a sales letter that offers an unfinished product, a way to collect money for it, and a place where you can send people to get onto a mailing list.
With this very simple system, you can establish a lucrative business model that you can recycle across multiple niches. I would follow these steps:
Find a problem that exists within your marketplace (so you can solve it). Outline the solution method into step-by-step e-mail messages.
After thoroughly preparing the first e-mail message in your solution sequence, add it to your autoresponder account, along with a welcome message added to the top of the lesson! For example, try this:
Thank you for your patronage; I appreciate your trust.
Within [X days], you’ll finally be rid of [state the problem] that’s been holding you back, and I am happy to help you on that journey.
If you get stuck, be sure to contact me at http://www.yourdomain.com/contact so that I can help you move forward.
Without further ado, here is your first lesson.
[Insert lesson] Your Name
P.S. Talk about what’s coming up in the next lesson.
Write a short sales letter explaining what the problem is and how you have a solution for it. Add your PayPal link (or other shopping cart button) to the sales page to accept payments from interested parties.
After payment, send the customer to the sign up page for your autoresponder messages. You’ll want to add a short note above the Aweber form to let customers know this is how they gain access to the product.
Once the person confirms, he/she gains access to your autoresponder lessons. They’ll immediately receive your welcome message and the first lesson.
How to Establish Your Pricing
How do you price this solution? That depends on how much information you’re providing to the customer and what format is chosen to deliver it. A video series, coupled with PDF files, is much more valuable than a simple text e-mail message.
Additionally, 12 e-mail text messages are much more valuable than four smaller ones. I suggest setting your pricing lower (start with $5) and then gradually increasing it until you find the resistance point (i.e. where people stop buying to get the solution).
Others charge for this type of information, but I’m not wired that way. So, if you don’t have a product yet, follow these simple instructions and by the end of the day, you’ll have one started!
The awesome part about this simple system is that you can start it with only ONE e-mail message and continue to add autoresponder messages until you’ve delivered the entire solution to paying customers.
