How Many Business Models Do You Tackle?

I received an email from an individual who has been watching my “how to get started on the Internet” videos.

The email said:

“I’ve been watching your video blogs about starting an internet business but I can’t work out what your actual business is lol.

What do you do?”

Immediately, I knew this individual was a new follower because anyone who follows me knows that I dabble in more than one business model: I am like Tiffany in this respect.

I don’t believe in putting all my eggs in one basket. I admitted, in a previous video, that my dad called me a jack of all trades and a master of none because I do a little bit of everything.

My Step-by-Step Tutorial Mentality

When I had a print brokering business, I did more than create newsletters, brochures, and business cards. Often I found myself on the telephone helping customers find a Word document they misplaced on a computer or teaching a person how to install a new font.

It made perfect sense that I would continue helping followers learn the technical aspects of running an online business, too. So if you need help setting up a website, creating graphics with Powerpoint, or starting a subscriber list — I can help you.

These are the four business models I like to explore:

1. Affiliate Marketing
2. PLR Content Creation
3. Graphic Design for other PLR Sellers
4. Technical Hand-holding

Out of the four, I admit that the technical hand-holding is what spurs my interest (and desire) the most. Although, I do enjoy working the other models! A chance of pace is good for me.

How Many Business Models Do You Tackle?

Take Away Lesson

Naturally, I didn’t start all four business models at the same time. I started with the graphic design (making banners, website headers, and other images).

From that point, I started a new business model as I became comfortable with adding work to my already-busy schedule. :)

If you decide you want to follow in my footsteps, don’t tackle all the models at once. Start one, get it working properly (by that statement, I mean earning sales), and then graduate from that point.

Don’t jump in with both feet; I can’t stress this enough!

Which business model are you incorporating right now? Do you foresee adding a new model in the future? If so, which one? Leave a comment below and let me know!

  1. Hi Bonnie,
    Love your videos.

Quick question – How do you set-up an email address with your name like you have in your videos.

    Thanks
    Vic

  2. Love this! It is so hard when you are starting out. All of those ideas that are running around in your head. Then skipping from one to the other because it is taking too long for you to start seeing money.

That was how I was, but then I started working with PLR. I was determined to make it work. Still at the beginning stages, but now I notice that I am much more productive and can get more done in less time because I followed through and did what needed to be done until it was complete.

I did this until I feel comfortable with all aspects. I am definitely still learning, but I feel more confident in my abilities. I completely agree “If you decide you want to follow in my footsteps, don’t tackle all the models at once. Start one, get it working properly (by that statement, I mean earning sales), and then graduate from that point.

Don’t jump in with both feet; I can’t stress this enough!”

But it is really hard when you have so many ideas!

    Great vlog post!

    • Yes, but half the problem is that people have TOO MANY ideas and they don’t settle down to work one before they move onto the next. (That’s what gets them in trouble, and the mindset that online business doesn’t work.)

No dear, it’s not hard at all… Just make a decision to stick with it until it’s making money – and then move on. Pass it on! hehe
