According to Michael Port’s latest blog post, 84% of the populations are visual learners. This means most people can recall only a little of what they’ve read while recalling mostly all of what they see.
You might want to take this information to heart, especially if you have a Facebook Fan Page, because reports suggest that Facebook favors photos and/or image based news over text and even video!
According to PostRocket.com, photos are the best performing post type for Facebook. Compare this factoid to another highly favorable marketing method, such as postcards.
For decades, offline marketers have used images on the “billboard” side of the cards to draw attention to their marketing messages. Why? Because imagery coupled with text always out-performs a plain text message!
Images are highly effective at grabbing attention and speaking to your target market. In 2001, Alex Mandossian’s Marketing with Postcard manual mentioned that postcard images can increase response by over 50%.
Grab a Bigger Piece of the Pie
Facebook posts with images take up more space in the news feed and therefore are more likely to get noticed much faster than any text-based status update. For this reason alone, you’ll want to add more visually stimulating posts to your Facebook marketing.
Don’t settle for placing status updates on your Facebook Fan Page when you can use an image to relay the same information and take up four times the amount of real estate, which means projecting your marketing message to the masses and getting it seen, read, liked and shared!
The Fastest Path to Get Noticed
The quickest and easiest way to implement visual stimulation in your Facebook marketing is to include photos or images that accompany the message you want to share. You’ll gain prominence over other marketers who are steadfast on using text updates.
Create a graphic that measures 403 x 403 pixels and add your marketing message right on top of the image. For example, here’s a message I shared on my Facebook Fan Page earlier this morning:
Compare the linked message that comes from your blog RSS feed…
or the tiny space the same message would take up if it was posted as a regular FB status update:
Which of the 3 commands more attention? Which one provides you with a bigger chunk of marketing property? That’s the one you want to choose!
How to Add Imagery to Your Marketing Plan
But what if you’re graphically challenged and feel you can’t design effective marketing images? How do you gain the benefits that imagery marketing provides? There are several ways I can think of, which include:
- Hire someone to design the graphics for you.
- Buy ready-made PLR quote graphics.
- Use pre-made templates and add famous quotes.
If you’re strapped for cash, obviously hiring a graphic designer is out of the question for now, but if you can afford to invest in your business buy PLR quote graphics or The Logo Creator software.
What is the Logo Creator?
The Logo Creator is a piece of software that runs on a MAC or PC computer and allows you to create logos, quote graphics, timeline covers, video watermarks, blog headers and any other marketing image you need at your disposal.
I’ve gotten quite a bit of feedback about The Logo Creator software so I decided to buy it and put it to the test. Tomorrow, I’ll share the results with you, so make it a point to check back with me!
