Generating Traffic: Harness The Power of a Signature File
July 16, 2008 · Print This Article
If you’ve been marketing online, you’re probably using a signature file to describe your products or services and it’s found at the end of every email message you send out. But email isn’t the only way a signature file can be put to work for you.
Today I’d like to talk about several other uses for your signature files and what I’d like you to do is choose one or use them all to attract additional targeted traffic to your website.

I’d love to hear your comments… please feel free to let me know how you use signature files to generate traffic to your website. Thanks!

This is a really simple but powerful way to promote your business, your sig file should automatically be in all your emails, and correspondence. It’s look professional and is expected if you run any business over the net.
It’s a good way for people to access your website quickly and also generates a link back to your site.
David,
I agree with what you say but do you realize just how many people I get email from that do NOT use a signature file? I think it stems from the fact that they are simply new to Internet marketing and haven’t learned everything they need to know.
This is the main reason why I do provide information that may seem old school to some. I try to remember that new people subscribing to my lists are also new to the Internet marketing arena in general and therefore need to have this information.
Thank you so much David for your input. I am pleased (and thankful) you shared your thoughts.
All good things,
Bonnie
Bonnie,
Here is a statistic that is absolutely staggering to me (I wonder if it’s even true sometimes). 14 million new people join the Internet monthly, worldwide.
Given the number of *new* people joining the Internet, an standardized *standard line* used in all forms of electronic correspondence would seem an imperative to anyone marketing themselves or their products online.
I regularly recommend to people I am coaching to let their signature line be their silent partner in that *signatures* “prospect” without pressure, without obligation, without you having to say a word!
Cenay,
Here’s the real kicker…
I know professionals who “regularly” change their signature line because they feel it’s being overused or it’s outdated. Obviously, this is total nonsense when you consider the staggering numbers as they relate to “new prospects” arriving on the Internet on a monthly (or even weekly) basis.
The only party who is getting “tired” of seeing the same old signature line, is the professional who created it.
I say, let it ride!
All good things,
Bonnie Gean
