PLR Article Tips: How to Recycle Your PLR Articles

June 16, 2009

Many small business owners assume they need to resell PLR articles as fast as they buy them before moving on to the next best thing. Unfortunately, they’re missing out on the true benefits of finding great PLR. Here are some of my favorite tips to help you get the most bang for your buck by recycling PLR content:

Extract a blog post - Any PLR article can be broken down into a blog post. Any article, actually. If the plr content has several bullet points - each bullet point can be extracted, expanded upon, and added to your blog.

Create an article - Likewise, blog posts can be molded into a full length article and syndicated through any article directory that accepts repurposed PLR content. Just add an introduction, a conclusion, and a headline that grabs attention.

Create a mini-course - Extract several related blog posts and combine them to make a mini-course based on a specific topic. Use the viral giveaway (mentioned below) as a free gift to entice people to subscribe to your new course.

Generate free, viral giveaways - These valuable reports can help spread your name, product or affiliate links, and web site addresses across the Internet. Viral giveaways can help you build lists of targeted prospects in addition to branding you as an expert for the topic they cover.

Develop a unique product - Don’t fall into the trap of using the PLR as it is. Instead, put your unique thinking cap on and design a product that’s exclusively yours. Expand on the text portion and rewrite it to weave in your personality. Think about recording the PLR articles to attract auditory learners. Later, produce a home study course with video.

Offer a better deal - When someone buys your product, offer them the choice to grab a silver or gold version. You can do this at the checkout, the product download page, or even from inside the product they just purchased! The silver version could offer a reprint license for $67-$97 and the gold version could offer your entire sales funnel for $147, (which includes your giveaway, mini-course, blog posts, etc.) and allows buyers to mimic your success.

Recommend resources - Inside your product (as well as your mini-course and free viral giveaway) you’ll want to promote your affiliate links to other affiliate programs. This gives you the ability to earn extra money if anyone buys one of the products you’re promoting.

The great thing about this system is that it’s easy to duplicate with any type of PLR content. Once your sales funnel is in place for the first product, repeat the process to continuously build your information empire.

This is a better system for getting the most mileage from your PLR content. While others are using the same boring PLR, unchanged from the original batch, you’ll be reaping the biggest rewards because you recycled PLR to deliver entertaining and informative content. And this, my friend, is what targeted readers truly desire!

Copywriting: The Hardest Web Page to Write

November 10, 2008

Many website owners tackle writing their own content at least once before throwing their hands up in the air. And the page that most often makes them cave is the About Us page.

It’s hard to write well about yourself and the company you created. But it’s important that your About Us page communicates exactly the right message. Because this is the page your most skeptical prospects will turn to before doing business with you.

They may have already decided they like your product or service. They may think the price is fair and your policies reasonable. But before they click on “Buy now”, they want to know that the company they’re buying from is reliable and experienced, and that it is run in a professional and decent way.

Your About Us page can be a true confidence-builder and deal-closer. Strike the right note when preparing it and it can be a formidable asset to your company and your conversions.

How to Make Your Resources Page More Effective

September 2, 2008

Many business website owners have a links or resources page to help improve their search engine rankings.  And most of them try to list sites that are relevant to their target audience; but not always.

One very candid webmaster wrote this on his links page:

“The links on this page are for improving search engine rating only. I do not endorse any of them. They are not in any way related to this website.”

Honest but not very helpful.

When you create a resources page for the search engines, try to make it useful to your human visitors too.

Two reasons why you want to do this:

  • You’ll be helping your visitors by referring them to important, relevant resources, and that reflects well on you.
  • You’ll be helping your rankings because the search engines prefer links from pages whose content is related to your site content.

Why People Leave Websites Without Buying

August 10, 2008

Imagine a clothing store. You walk in the door and can see the clothing way at the back, but in order to reach it you have to pass through a complicated maze, with twists and turns that make you lose your way. Finally, in frustration you climb over the wall and run for the exit, never to return.

Just like in that imaginary store, people will exit your website without making a purchase if they find it confusing. So give them good navigation, clear and compelling copy, and a user-friendly shopping cart.
