In response to a recent question received from a subscriber, I am going to show you how easy it is to add a PayPal “buy now” button to your blog.

Instructions
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Choose “Create payment buttons for your website” tab
- Click the blue “Create a button” button
- Enter your product information
- Fill in advanced features
- Customize your PayPal buy now button
- Highlight the HTML code
- Copy the contents to your clipboard
- Paste the clipboard to your blog post

Thanks Bonnie. I think my concern is how to set it up for a download. I just finished writing my first art eBook and I know nothing about setting up a download page. Do you have instructions for that? Also how to do a webpage on WordPress. Their templates all look like a blog!

Hi Bonnie. I went through your tutorial and the comments of the other readers. I wish the PayPal site explained things as well as you do!
A quick question or two. If one already has a Premier Account can one apply for the Website Payment Standard without further upgrading? PayPal does not state Premier Business Account in their description (maybe they expect us to know it?:) ) Would that restrict the user from using PayPal to make occasional payments? Thanks in advance!

Even if you don’t have a Premier Business you can still use the Website Payment Standard buttons without upgrading. This method through PayPal even offers a shopping cart, if you need it.

I use Camtasia “screen recording” software, which is a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion – if you want to create audio and/or video products.
I’ve used this program since it came out, so I feel I could use it in my sleep. LOL
I’ve been thinking of creating a “how to record great videos using Camtasia” product to show people just how easy it is to create professional videos, but I need to rearrange my office first to fit the big white screen in my room. 🙂
I’d love to see that video, Bonnie! I’ve tried their trial version and I think I’m just hopeless when it comes to using it.
Nice to have been missed. I’ve been out of the UBC for a bit. Couldn’t seem to keep up so I phased it out. If Michelle is starting it up in January again, I think I’ll give it another shot.

To start, I could do a screen recording video to give you an idea of how to use some of the tools inside Camtasia; would this help you? If so, I’ll make it a point to whip one out before the week is over.
The last UBC collided with the “Article Writing Challenge” I held on Facebook in October, so I didn’t do a very good job of keeping up with the daily posts. This was mainly do to the fact that I was writing more than 11,000 words for my Article Writing participants and there wasn’t enough time at the end of the day to write a daily blog post. I wanted to write for my challengers (I gave them daily tasks, etc.)
However, Michelle has mentioned more than once, it’s not about posting 30 posts during the month (although that’s what it implies)… it’s more about writing MORE OFTEN than you normally do, getting extra traffic back to your blog, and building relationships through the challenge.
So don’t feel as if you’re failing when you don’t post daily to your blog. Just as long as you’re posting when you can, you’re fine. Extra traffic from a few blog posts a month is better than no traffic. Right? 🙂
Oh please… don’t rush on that video. Camtasia is not in my budget right now anyway.
Yes… I know the challenge is not necessarily to write 30 blog posts – but I sure did try. I find that I do about one a week.

I have read through the PDF file – thanks for that – but I am not sure how to open a Merchant Account. Do you have to be a registered business for that?

All you need to do is open a PayPal business account, Ann. Supply a bank account and credit card to verify your information.
Basically, the difference between the a personal PayPal account and a premier business account is the amount of money that one can transfer OUT of the account each month, and more importantly, PayPal requires you to open a Premier Business account if you’re a seller of goods and services and intend to collect money for business transactions.
They don’t like you using a personal PayPal account for business transactions, so apply for the PayPal business account.

Yes! You can add your subscribe code into a post and/or page and it will work the same way!

Adding a payment link or button is crucial information that some need to know. I wasn’t certain whether people wanted a button or link so I provided both. 🙂
The link also works in email, which is a PLUS!
